As we begin our search for a new Lead Pastor at Park Hill, please join us in concerted prayer.
- Read, pray, and meditate a few minutes on Psalm 100, Psalm 34, and Matthew 7:7-11. Reflect on the blessing PHBC is in your life, and give thanks. Pray your highest aspirations for our church.
- Pray by name for the Pastor Search Committee (PSC): David Avery, Jeff Boone, David Cobb, Brooke Hays, Mabry Keefe, Kelly Thomas, Eric Varner, and Frank Walker. You might pick a couple of them to pray for every day. Would you consider writing them a prayer note now and then as they do their work?
- Pray that the PSC will speak and listen to God, love one another well, listen well to one another and the congregation, move in sync with the Holy Spirit, be honest with one another, bring no personal agendas to their work, stay focused and patient in slow times, exercise God’s wisdom, keep confidence with their conversations and persons they interview, work in unity as a team, handle disagreements well, reach consensus on the right candidate, and find joy and satisfaction in their work.
- Pray for your church staff pastors: Garrick Conner, Mark Dewbre, Jessica Russell, Jeremy Briggs, Larry Grayson (Interim Worship Pastor), and John McCallum (Interim Pastor). Pray for wisdom, unity, clear direction, and joy as they carry on the work of the church during the interim period. Find ways to encourage them.
- Pray for the church’s finances as sometimes giving declines a bit during an interim. Pray that the church will add new givers and grow existing givers. A Church in a strong financial position is encouraging to a new pastor.
- Pray that the church will experience renewal and grow in unity, discipleship, and number during the interim period. Pray that you and the rest of the members will share Christ and invite friends to church. Pray Philippians 1:9-11 over the church.
- Pray for the pastor and family God has selected for Park Hill. Pray, that they will be open to a move, intent on following God’s Spirit, and that the Lord will smooth the way for a good transition when the time is right.

Let’s lift up our voice to God on behalf of our church in the search for our new pastor and his family, along with those leading in the process. We are asking you to sign up for at least one half-hour time slot on Wednesday, April 17 or Thursday, April 18.
