Pastor Ken Shaddox gets dunked!
Beautiful and breezy fall weather set the stage for an entertaining event at Park Hill's Block Party on Sunday evening. More than 1000 people enjoyed food, fellowship, and fun, including nearly 300 guests, many from the Park Hill community.
This year's event featured a couple local Christian bands as well as the Dixieland Band, which is comprised of PHBC members. A bustling venue of inflatables and children's games drew the attention of the young, while a car show across C Avenue held the fascination of old and young alike.
The Block Party served to connect the community with the North Little Rock Upward Basketball league, which is now registering. It also helped spread the word about Central Arkansas CityFest with Luis Palau, which will be held October 24-25 in North Little Rock.
PrayerWalk Event Reaches Out to Community
Sunday, September 20, 2009 | Garrick Conner

Approximately 170 members participated in the fall PrayerWalk in the Park Hill community. Participants distributed 1500 packets to homes in the neighborhoods near the church.
The PrayerWalk served as a way to reach out to neighbors, inviting them to next week's Block Party event, which will be held on Sunday, September 27 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
This is just one of a number of ways that Park Hill is reaching beyond the walls of the church and into the hearts and lives of our community and our world. Through Support Groups, CityFest, Operation Christmas Child and other outwardly-focused ministries, Park Hill is committed to being a Great Commission church.

Dr. Bob Harper distributes cookies to a student.
Park Hill Baptist Church has partnered with Poplar Street Middle School for the 'Season of Service' CityFest emphasis. On the first day of school, August 19, members of Park Hill distributed homemade cookies to sixth grade students as they left school for the day. This is just one of many ways that Park Hill will be working to build relationships and demonstrate the love of Christ to the students and staff at the school in the months ahead.
Church members distributed cookies to nearly 700 students, bringing smiles to the faces of many. This was just one of several efforts to connect with the school. On August 17, gift bags were distributed to all the teachers at the school.
