From Our Family to Yours…

Children are important to God and to Park Hill Baptist Church. Our desire is to partner with parents to lay foundations of faith for families. Every child needs to hear God's word and know of God's love, no matter how young or how old they are.

Here are the five main goals we are striving toward:

• We want to teach children to worship God with all that they are-it's what we were made to do.
• We want them to experience true Christian fellowship and know what it means to be part of the family of God.
• We want them to grow in their knowledge and understanding of who God is and who He wants to be in their lives.
• We want children to learn that serving God means serving others.
• We want them to know that they can share God's love with others through what they say and do.
• We are excited about what God is doing and how He is leading.

Sunday School

Children's Sunday School is more than an hour of Bible study at church. It's the foundation to support a child's life. It's about beginnings-starting to recognize the Bible as more than just a book carried to church. It's learning to respond to others with attitudes and actions of love and respect. It's discovering a conscience-knowing what's right and wrong based on what the Bible says. It is believing that when you pray, God is always listening. Most importantly, it's about learning to love others because God first loved us.

Children's Choirs

Our fully graded Children's Choir program is staffed by talented spiritual leaders who are committed to sharing the love of God with our children age four through sixth grade as we model for them the joy of worshipping the Lord through His gift of music.  Scripture and hymn memory, instrumental exploration, music fundamentals, and opportunities to lead in worship are strengths of this ministry.  We are blessed with one of the finest, most energetic, and creative teams of leaders who love children and love the Lord.  Children's Choirs are for ages four years through sixth grade.  Wednesdays -- 5:30 p.m.

Missions

We believe it is important for children to learn to put their faith in action. Preschoolers learn about missionaries and serving God through Mission Friend classes.  For elementary students we have Royal Ambassadors for boys and Girls in Action for girls.

Special Events

Throughout the year, special events are offered to nurture families and give children different opportunities to experience God.   Below is a sampling of some of these events.

Child Development Center

We know quality childcare is important to working families.  Our desire is to provide a safe, Christian environment where a child's emotional, spiritual, intellectual, social and physical needs are met.  The CDC is open Monday through Friday (with the exception of holidays) from 7am until 6pm.  Care is available for infants through school age children.  To find out more call 753-2147.

Kids' Night Out

The second Friday night of each month from 6:30-9:30pm, PHBC offers Kids' Night Out.  Each night is themed and gives children a chance to play and parents some well-deserved adult time.  The cost is $7 per child ($15 family maximum), and reservations are accepted until the Wednesday prior.

Children's Camp

In 2010 our 3rd-6th graders will have the opportunity to attend Centri-Kid Camp at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri. The camp dates will be July 12-16. Click here for more information.
